Two ways to get a reel's music

The reel's own audio. Choose Audio only and the sound track is lifted out of the reel's video and saved as an audio file. Instagram's audio is AAC, so it is copied into an M4A file without re-encoding – fast, and exactly as it sounds in the app. Use this for voices, sound effects, a remix that only exists in that reel, or when you want exactly those 30 seconds.

The full song. Most reels are set to a song, but only a slice of it, often with talking over the top. Send the reel to the bot and choose Identify the music. The bot listens to several parts of the clip, checks that two of them agree, and once it is sure, sends you the complete track with the real title, artist and cover, plus its lyrics. When the song cannot be found

Recognition works on recorded music, so a reel where somebody is singing live, speaking over the whole track, or using a song released days ago may not be identified. The bot says so plainly rather than guessing. When it is not sure, it shows you the candidates it heard and lets you pick. If you know a line of the lyrics, typing it into the song downloader often finds the track too.

Frequently asked questions

How do I download just the audio of an Instagram reel?

Paste the reel's link and choose Audio only. The sound track of the video is separated into its own file – copied, not re-encoded, so it is exactly the reel's audio.

Is the audio the full song?

It is what the reel contains, which is usually a 15–60 second clip of a song, often with talking over it. For the complete song, use song identification – it finds the track and sends it in full.

Why is it M4A and not MP3?

Instagram stores reel audio as AAC, and M4A is the file that holds AAC without changing it. Converting to MP3 would re-compress the sound and lose a little quality for nothing – every phone and player plays M4A.

The reel uses "original audio". Can it still be identified?

Often yes – "original audio" is frequently a song re-uploaded under a creator's name. Identification listens to the sound itself, not the label, so a real song is recognised either way. Speech, sound effects and very new releases may not be.

Can I make a ringtone from a reel's audio?

Yes. Get the audio in the bot, then reply to it with the part you want, like 0:03-0:28. The audio cutter sends back just that piece.
