How to use it on this website

Video pins and image pins

Pinterest mixes two kinds of pins in one feed, and a link does not tell you which one you are holding. The downloader opens the pin and looks: if it has video, you get the video as an MP4; if it is a picture, you get the picture.

Video pins are fetched at the best quality Pinterest serves and packaged as a standard MP4 that plays in Telegram, on phones and on desktop players.

Images at their original size

In the feed Pinterest shows every image scaled down to fit the grid, often a fraction of its real size. Behind each pin is an originals version: the file as it was uploaded. The downloader lists every version Pinterest has, picks the largest one and sends that – a pin that appears 236 pixels wide in the feed is often 1000 or more at full size.

In the bot, the image is sent as a Telegram photo. Telegram recompresses photos a little on the way, so when you need the exact original file, byte for byte, use the web version.

  • Pin links – pinterest.com/pin/123…, plus every country domain: pinterest.co.uk, pinterest.de, pinterest.com.au and so on.
  • Short links – the pin.it/… links from the share button, followed to the pin first.
  • Boards – not supported as a whole. A link is one pin, which keeps a board link from starting hundreds of downloads by accident.

How do I download a video from Pinterest?

Copy the pin's link (Share → Copy link), paste it here or send it to the bot, and you get the video as an MP4 file.

Do I get the full-size image or the preview?

The full size. Pinterest keeps an "originals" version of every image – the one that was uploaded – next to the scaled-down previews it shows in the feed. The downloader picks the largest one, for example 1024 × 1536 where the feed showed a thumbnail.

Do pin.it short links work?

Yes. The share sheet's pin.it links are followed to the pin, and links from Pinterest's country sites (pinterest.co.uk, pinterest.de and so on) work too.

Can I download a whole Pinterest board?

No. A link is treated as one pin, so a board link fetches a single item rather than starting a download of hundreds. Send the pins you want one by one.

Why is my pin an image when I expected a video?

Some pins that look animated are images or GIF previews that link elsewhere. The downloader sends the pin as what it actually is. If the video is hosted on another site such as YouTube, open the pin's source and send that link instead.
